The story of Rigby and Nathan began more than 50 years ago, in Rock Island, Illinois. In 1967 Nate's father, James, met Barbara "Cookie" through the Quad City Music Guild. The duo would become friends for life, and keep in touch over 5 decades and even across a time zone or two.

Enter Nate. January 13th, 1994, Nate was born under a waxing crescent moon in Geneva, Illinois. Two years later and 1,000 miles away, Rigby would also be born under this same moon in Manchester, New Hampshire. Over the next few decades, Rigby and Nate's shared love for learning would lead them both to living in Boulder, Colorado.

During a visit home in November, 2021, Rigby's mother, Melissa, had an important person whom she wanted her to meet. Melissa was beginning to form a friendship with her neighbor, Bobbie, a retired teacher and member of the Wolfeboro Garden Club and Maker's Mill. At their meeting, the lovely and talented Bobbie (aka Barbara, aka Cookie) would supply Rigby with not only the world's best handmade mittens, but also the phone number of a nice young man in Boulder, Nate Reed. Just a few weeks later, Rigby and Nate met for their first date at Trident coffee shop on Pearl Street.

In the two years they have spent together, Rigby and Nate have navigated life's joys and sorrows, secured by one another's love. During this time, they each resonated with quotes as they came to know a love which they never had before. For Rigby, it is from Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie, "The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to something that gives you purpose and meaning." For Nate, the quote comes from Carl Sagan, "For small creatures such as we, the vastness (of the Cosmos) is bearable only through love." It is through their shared sense of meaning and kismet way of meeting that Rigby and Nate came to decide upon the theme for their wedding: "Written in the Stars" or the less succinct "Love is the Only Rationale Meaning of Life and the Universe Itself".

Nate and Rigby are over the moon to celebrate their cosmic coupling surrounded by their dearest loved ones.
